van Asch Deaf Education Centre will fund the repair of and batteries/accessories required by Hearing Equipment issued by the
Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health. This is funded by the van Asch Deaf Education Centre’s operating grant
and is free of charge to children within the van Asch Deaf Education Centre’s region who are eligible.
* Please note that any equipment issued for Central Auditory Processing Disorder is not supported by van Asch Deaf Education Centre. Please contact your local Ministry of Education branch should you have any questions.

order batteries for Cochlear or MedEl Implant Processors.
van Asch Deaf Education Centre’s Hearing Equipment Technician is available Monday - Friday 9am-3pm, throughout the year. This includes school holidays.
Batteries are issued free of charge to all children under the age of 18 years old within the van Asch Deaf Education Centre region. Students up to the age of 21yrs old will also be supported for as long as they remain enrolled in full-time education.
Proof of current enrolment may be requested by the Hearing Equipment Technician for any orders placed by students between the ages of 18-21.
Currently van Asch Deaf Education Centre issues PowerOne Mercury Free batteries in sizes; 675 (blue packaging), 13 (orange packaging), 312 (brown packaging), 10 (yellow packaging).

Proof of current enrolment may be requested by the Hearing Equipment Technician for any repairs belonging to students
between the ages of 18-21.
Equipment requiring repair should be taken to the student’s Audiologist in the first instance.
Where this is not possible due to travelling distances, appointment availabilities etc, the equipment can be sent directly to van Asch Deaf Education Centre’s Hearing Equipment Technician.
A fully completed repair form is required to be included with all equipment sent to the Technician.
