NZ Deaf Summer Camp - Update and Changes to Registration

Hello! Tēnā koutou katoa

Spring is here and that means that summer is not too far away! Can you believe that we have 4 months to go before the camp starts? Forest Lakes Camp has been viewed and it’s such a stunning setting with the lake, roaming horses, a 25m swimming pool, flying fox, confidence course, 9-hole mini-golf, ten-pin bowling and much, much more. So, are you getting excited like us? Check out the photos on our website.

We are thrilled to let you know that we have received a generous boost to our funds from Van Asch Deaf Education Centre that will directly benefit all our camp participants in that their travel to and from camp will be covered. So, for students who have already booked and purchased their own travel tickets to attend the camp, please email to discuss your situation.

Camp registrations are still coming in as the registration deadline approaches and, with the recent positive news, some of you may be stressing that you may have left it too late to register now. But worry no more! We are pleased to announce that the registration deadline is extended to Friday, 19 October, which is at the end of Week 1 in the next school term. To register for the camp you need to download the registration form from then complete it and send it to us. So go on, share the great news to other Deaf and hard of hearing youth that they still have more time to register and have their travel costs covered.

On behalf of the camp participants, the Camp Committee extends their heartfelt thanks to Van Asch Deaf Education Centre for their generous koha and tautoko. For more up to date news, check our website at If you have any queries, please email us at .

Thank you.
