Middle School
The middle school delivers the following essential learning areas of the New Zealand National Curriculum:
- Mathematics
- Science
- The Arts
- Technology
- English
- Health and Physical Education
- Social Sciences
In delivering the curriculum, individualised programmes for students allow a focus to be placed on the development of essential skills:
- Communication skills
- Numeracy skills
- Information skills
- Problem solving skills
- Self-management and competitive skills
- Social and cooperative skills
- Physical skills
- Work and study skills
Special attention is given to early adolescent development and the personal development skills associated with decision making, taking responsibility, personal goal setting, making positive choices, supporting others, and developing self-esteem. In addition, students in the middle school have access to a local curriculum which includes:

- Literacy
- Speech/Language
