Information Technology Resources

The Board of Trustees has acknowledged the special place Information Technology has in the education of deaf and hearing-impaired students.

All classrooms at the Centre have access to a range of Information Technology hardware and software. In addition to having computers that allow both staff and students access to the Internet and e-mail, all classrooms have access to digital cameras, digital video cameras, scanners, faxes and TTYs.

The Centre has a computer suitewhich is supplied with Apple McIntosh computers. Students can explore word processing, desktop publishing and graphic design software as well as the use of the internet and e-mail. Annual courses are held with Natcoll tutors which include the use of Dreamweaver and Photoshop and other programmmes.

Students are also encouraged to make and edit their own videos through use of digital video cameras and video editing programmes.
