- Important message from Telecom! |
|
Telecom Mobile has advised Police that their CDMA mobile network is closing on 31 July 2012. That means if you have a CDMA mobile (A mobile phone that is more than 2 years old) you will not be able to use it after this date and will not be able to make emergency 111 calls or 111 Txt messages. If you are a Telecom customer you will need to upgrade your mobile phone.

What to do if you are Being Txt BulliedIf your getting scary, mean, rude or bullying txts from someone, you can report them to your mobile phone company. Your mobile company can send a warning to them and will even cut them off the network BUT here are the steps YOU must follow: DON'T reply to the messages OR phone/text the number. Make a list of the date and time you received at least 4 bullying or harassing messages from that person. To show these are unwanted messages, this call list can ONLY start from the time when YOU STOPPED REPLYING. Keep the txts on your phone to show the phone company. |

A collection of eleven videos has been produced by theMinistry of Civil Defence & Emergency Management in conjunction with Deaf Aotearoa. It contains useful information to raise awareness of the types of disasters that can happen in New Zealand and provides advice on how to be better prepared. Cinema captioning started in New Zealand because a Deaf man filed a complaint to the Human Rights Commission in December 2001 regarding lack of captions in movies. Due to the joint effort between the Deaf community, representatives of the film industry and the Human Rights Commission, New Zealand citizens can now enjoy captioned movies!
